Paul Sandhu
Paul Sandhu and his wife, Amy, moved to the Great American Little Town 32 years ago with their 2 children. They instantly fell in love with Galt small town charm. Their kids went through elementary and high school here, and now their grandchildren are attending the same schools.
Paul immigrated to the United States from India nearly 40 years ago to live the American dream. After several temporary jobs, Paul landed a position with the United States Postal Service, starting as a mail carrier and working his way up to management, completing 25 years of service before early retirement.
Shortly after retiring, Paul and Amy became local business owners of the Best Western hotel in Galt. Paul is a former Chamber Board Member, active member of Galt Sunrise Rotary and the Galt Historical Society. Paul and Amy were selected as the Galt Herald People of the Year 2020.
In 2012, former mayor Barbara Payne appointed Paul to the Planning Commission, where he served for 6 years. In 2018, he ran for Galt City Council going on to be the top vote-getter in the 2022 election. He was the first councilmember in Galt history to hold open office hours.
